Pokerstars allowing automated decision software? (Daniel "Pl@yerABC" Sklar's opininion)

$

One of the fundamental criteria for allowing software should be its availability to the general player pool

Charles Hawk: Have you used it and could you comment on how better it is with this programm than without?

Daniel "Pl@yerABC" Sklar: I have never used this software (or any other bot-like software).

Charles Hawk: What do you think about such things?

Daniel "Pl@yerABC" Sklar: I don't want to spend too much time just rambling about philosophy and how the games should be completely fair and everybody should be nice and follow the rules 100% of the time. We live in a real world and so let's think about what is technically possible to do in this situation.
For me, the real question is: How capable is PokerStars when it comes to detecting different kinds of sofware running on a player's computer at the time of play? That's the question that people with more IT experience could try to answer. My idea is that PokerStars should only have rules in place that could be effectively enforced. The nightmare scenario is having rules that are nice in theory but cannot be enforced in the real world. The result will be that nice people will follow all the rules and be put at a disadvantaged position because some shady people will be just breaking rules knowing that they will not be punished.

Spin & Go HUD Plus v.1.0.9 Released

We have just released a new version of the Plus edition of currrr14's Spin & Go HUD. In this version, numbered 1.0.9, a bug has been fixed in the SB VPIP stats that was causing incorrect calculations. We recommend users conduct a custom cache rebuild prior to using the new version. Step-by-step instructions for this operation are available at the end of this post.

As with past updates, rather than wiping out everyone's customizatons by overwriting the existing profiles, we have copied all current users to the new profile. Although it is impossible for us to migrate your customizations from an older version to the new one, at least this update strategy makes it possible for you to continue to use the old version until you have had a chance to re-do all of your customizations in the new one.

If you would like us to remove several of your older Spin & Go HUD or CoffeeHUD profiles, please e-mail us at membership@husng.com. In your e-mail, please include the last six digits of your PT4 registration code (available within PT4 by opening the Help menu and selecting About) and which profiles you would like to have removed.

Interview with Denis: $60-$200 Turbo/regspeed reg

Note: To read our interviews last month with Denis's housemates, see here for Jakezesnake and here for Sverigelottn.

About recent and previous places:

Denis: Right now I am living in a house with Sverigelottn and Jakezesnake since the beginning of this year.

Before that I was living in Thailand for 2 years, we had a nice German community (around 8 people) of HU grinders there, so my start in Thailand was a lot easier. This was also when I met Sverigelottn and Jakezesnake for the first time. So after 2 years in Thailand I needed a change, and someone came up with the idea to rent a house in Sweden. And there we are right now :)

Charles Hawk: Which limits do you play? How long have you been playing professionally?

Denis: I play turbo/regspeed HUSNGs from 60-200 and a few MTTs. I have been playing professionally for about 3 years.

Charles Hawk: Tell me about how you got introduced to poker.

Interview with Paul "PBogz" Bogin Part 2

Last week, Charles interviewed Paul “Pbogz” Bogin. This week, he got a chance to ask Paul a few more questions. And even better, there's three hand reviews from Pbogz at the end!

Charles Hawk: What was the hardest thing when you started playing poker professionally? What is the biggest weaknesses that you successfully eliminated from your game?

Paul “Pbogz” Bogin: The hardest part was separating home life from work. Since you work from home, you always feel like you're on the clock. I believe it's unhealthy to live like that, and need to make sure you think to a certain schedule. Like a real job. My biggest weakness was getting enough volume. Some due to where I live, but overall I found myself taking too many breaks in the past. Now, not so much.

CH: How would you describe your game? What is your competitive advantage against the field?

PB: I would describe my game as solid. I do everything really well and my instincts are for sure my competitive edge. Both live and online.

CH: Do you get bored when grinding? Do you have any advice on how to keep focused when playing bad players?
